Beautiful farmhouse in Fernandina Beach

Beautiful home but disappointed Positive: Edited - The house looks beautiful, the aesthetic and thought put into the decor and presentation is lovely. The location is perfect for both beaches and downtown Fernandina Beach. Piney Island where the house is, is lovely and quiet and very easy to find. Communication from the host where excellent, we managed to gain access to the property without any issues and the parking space specifically for the farmhouse is a bonus. The washer and dryer are also a great addition as we managed to go home with very little washing to do. Tino, the most affectionate cat, was the highlight, he came to visit us every morning for some pets and purrs. Negative: This is an edited review in response to the owners response. We contacted the owner prior to leaving the review as being short term let owners ourself we wanted to give them right of reply and to notify them of what we found before resorting to doing it in public. The review would have been more favourable had they accepted what we said appropriately and responded to us, which they did not. There has been no response at all from them, but have chosen to do so publicly instead, belittling and disagreeing with what we found at the property. We didn't ask for anything, we are not seeking a refund or compensation of any kind, it was sincerely to let them know what lets the property down. Please see the uploaded pictures that go some way to showing that we have not exaggerated or made up any claims of what we found at the property. The response of the host is misleading and as difficult as we found it to criticise fellow hosts it is also misleading to to post an inaccurate review. Unfortunately, I do not have photos of every issue we encountered as we where on holiday and never thought my integrity would be called into question. We struggled with this as we really wanted to love this property and unfortunately, just didn't. The thought and workmanship that went into the decor just didn't translate into the quality we found in the property. There was a significant spill all through the kitchen utensils that had not been cleaned from previous guests, pots, pans and cutlery covered is a dried brown substance which we had to wash ourselves before use. There were other things like dirty brown marks on the curtains and mattress protector, hole in the bed linen, chips out of the bath, sink, shower tiles, the kitchen sink is significantly peeling brown stains on the curtains and mattress protector.

Very nice little farmhouse. We really enjoyed our visit! Positive: Quiet and relaxing.

Great stay and hosts were wonderful - would recommend this VRBO! Positive: Very good location with 5 miles of downtown Fernandina and close to Amelia Island resorts Negative: Better Coffee pods!
